Dr Muh Geot Wong, MBBS, FRACP, PhD

Dr Wong is a Nephrologist and works as a part time Senior Research Fellow at the Kolling Institute and the George Institute. His main area of research is in understanding the pathomechanisms of kidney tubulointerstitial fibrosis, strategy in delaying CKD progression, and biomarkers in predicting progressive kidney disease especially in diabetic kidney disease and IgA nephropathy. He is the current Head of the Renal Clinical trial unit at the Royal North Shore Hospital, and an active member of the a member of the Kolling Research Executive Committee for the Northern Sydney Lower Health District, which oversees the strategic development and operational effectiveness of the Clinical based research across the Area Health. He is part of the CARI guideline write-up group for Screening for infections in haemodialysis, and a member of the Scientific Program and Education Committee (SPEC) for the Australian New Zealand Society of Nephrology since 2015. He has received several Young Investigator Awards and Early Career Awards at national and regional level in the past few years including the Young Investigator Awards at the Asia Pacific Congress of Nephrology, Tokyo in 2014.
