American Society Of Immunogenetics and Histocompatibility
Associate Professor Carroll is the American Society Of Immunogenetics and Histocompatibility Lab Director for the Sydney , Melbourne and Adelaide, Tissue Typing Labs and provides a clinical consultation service to the renal and cardiothoracic units throughout NSW, VIC and SA.
He has led the national standardisation of sera treatment and HLA testing across Australia and the implementation of the Halifaster Flow Crossmatch. He is internationally recognised for his work in non HLA antibodies and EPLET matching to prevent HLA sensitization.
A/Prof Carroll pioneered renal transition clinics and Young Adult Renal Clinics, setting up the first clinics in 2009. He has been responsible for setting up similar programmes across Australia and is now Director of the National Adolescent and Young Adult Renal Transition Clinic Programme.
