Aim. To determine the structure of the damage to the cardiovascular system in patients with CKD on hemodialysis of the urban population of Uzbekistan.
Background. According to the European Association for Dialysis and Transplantation (ERA-EDTA), mortality from cardiovascular complications (CCO) among patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) on program hemodialysis (HD) is about 30 times higher than in the same age groups in the total populations.
Methods. The study included 102 patients (51 men and 53 women) permanently residing in the city of Tashkent. The main underlying diseases were chronic glomerulonephritis (n = 38), diabetes mellitus (n = 33), urolithiasis (n = 11), systemic vasculitis (n = 5), and anomalies in the development of the urinary tract (n = 5). The average age of patients was 49.7 ± 11.7 years. The duration of HD was 37 (6-89) months. Program hemodialysis was performed according to the scheme 4 hours 3 times a week.
Results. Cardiovascular pathology was revealed in 62 (59.6%) patients. In 55 (53%) of all examined, hypertension was detected. 40 (38.5%) patients had angina. Heart failure was diagnosed in 20 (19%) patients. More than half of patients with cardiovascular pathology (n = 40) had a combination of IHD and hypertension, and 13 patients had a combination of IHD + Hypertenison + HF.
Conclusions. Based on the analysis of our work, we can assume a high prevalence of CVD in patients with ESRD in the urban population. It became known that the main pathologies of the cardiovascular system in patients were hypertension, angina, heart failure, and various arrhythmias. Also revealed a high frequency of CVD comorbidity.
