ANZSN aims to provide most sessions on-demand to registered delegates for a four week period after the event. Availability of recorded sessions for on-demand will be dependent on consent received from presenters. Where consent has not been received and the session will only be available live on the day of presentation this will be indicated in the program below by 30th October 2020.

At the dawn of 2020, Nephrology fields have made several breakthroughs that include but not limited to the followings: 1) After nearly two decades, a new agent, sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor is proven to prevent loss of kidney function, end-stage kidney disease, hospitalisation for heart failure and cardiovascular death in patients with Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD); 2) New discovery has provided an approved treatment to slow the growth of cysts and to preserve kidney function of the most common inherited kidney disease, Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), 3) Several milestones have been made in management of anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with emerging efficacy and safety evidence of orally available HIF-1a stabilizers, 4) Technical advances in genome sequencing and association studies have yielded critical insights into the genetic architecture of kidney diseases that improve our understanding of the mechanisms of kidney development, homeostasis and disease states, many of which have clinical implications. | With the program going completely virtual in 2020, we have created 5 concurrent sessions providing the latest updates in general nephrology under the following five subthemes. A mixture of local, regional and international speakers will cover topics that are bread and butter for your clinical practice including glomerulonephritis, acute and chronic kidney disease as well as the hot topic of COVID-19 and the kidneys. The second half of the Interventional Nephrology (combined ANZSIN-ANZSN) and Genetic / Paediatric (Combined KidGen-ANZSN sessions) consist of interactive workshops facilitate by the field experts giving you the best experience in translation medicine. Don’t stress if you can’t attend every session. All sessions (unless otherwise indicated) will be recorded and shared with participants after the course. |

GENETIC WORKSHOP 101 Due to the interactive nature of the workshop it is not possible to be recorded.Patients with genetic kidney disease benefit from a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and testing. At this workshop you will be taken through worked clinical cases by a team of clinical geneticists, nephrologists and genetic counsellors who will draw on their clinical experience to demonstrate the power of the team based approach.
