Paediatric Nephrologist and Clinical Pharmacologist, The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne

Dr David Metz is a paediatric nephrologist, clinical pharmacologist, and clinical researcher. His PhD investigated methods to increase precision in mycophenolic acid dosing in kidney transplantation, through clinical trial and pharmacometric analysis. His research continues in this field, alongside active translation into clinical care. He works clinically as a nephrologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital, as well as physician on the Apheresis service. He is also medical lead of the Monash Children’s Clinical Trial Centre at Monash Health, which is involved in both commercial and investigator-initiated therapeutic trials to increase access to, and improve safety and effectiveness of, therapeutic drugs used in children.
